What is Passive learning?  I think Active learning is when students are learning with hands-on activities.  The teacher has produced open-ended learning.  A Constructivist approach to teaching would have an active learning environment. This leaves me to assume that the Traditionalist teacher that wants to lecture all the time, would have a Passive learning environment.  The passive learning, would be when the teacher does all of the lecturing and the students would be taking down notes the whole time.  Students don't learn very well this way.
